The inaugural Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards (VCA) took place successfully on the afternoon of December 22, 2023, with media sponsorship from TUBRR and various press agencies.

I. Background to the birth of the VCA Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards   

The genesis of the VCA Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards lies in the recent surge of the Internet and technological platforms, opening numerous avenues for enhanced digital content in both quantity and quality. The birth of these awards aims to acknowledge and stimulate the digital content creation community, encouraging the production of high-quality content with cultural and educational value.  

The Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards is an annual event overseen by the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and managed by the Digital Content Creation Association (DCCA).  

Dr. Nguyen Minh Hong, Chairman of Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) expressed that: "VCA is organized to promote dedication among organizations and individuals, fostering innovation and creativity in developing Vietnamese digital content for global recognition, thereby contributing to making Vietnam a hub for a robust digital content industry."  

II. Participants  

Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards 2023 is honored to welcome Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association , member of the Advisory Council of the Vietnam Digital Content Creative Alliance, attended and presented the award.  

On behalf of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan newspaper Le Quoc Minh highly appreciated the birth of the Vietnam Digital Content Creativity Award. He shared that if about ten years ago, only large organizations and press agencies with complete facilities could create digital content, today digital content can be created by everyone.  

Also attending were many leaders and experts such as: Chairman of Vietnam Digital Media Association Nguyen Minh Hong, Head of the Award organizing committee; Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Promotion and Development Association, Vice Chairman of the Central Council of Literature and Art Theory and Criticism, Chairman of the Award Finalist Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Award Preliminary Council... and representatives of many agencies, management organizations, businesses and individuals operating in the field of digital content.  

III. Award categories  

Although it was the first year of organization, the VCA 2023 Vietnam Digital Content Creation Awards has received a total of 256 entries from businesses, organizations and individuals participating in the field of content creation, with a variety of ages, occupations and living areas.  

Content creators range in age from 19 to 40, coming from many provinces and cities across the country. In particular, there are also Vietnamese people working in the US, Germany, and Africa who have submitted their applications. The registration content topics are very diverse such as: advertising for brands, travel, music, education, comedy, cartoons… After two rounds of voting: Preliminary and Final, the Board of Judges chose to honor 15 individuals and groups in 7 award categories.  

“The preliminary examination committee worked and reviewed very carefully, through which we can see that the dossiers have rich topics, the creativity of the authors is expressed in both content, images, sounds, and languages. expressive language... The judging criteria are set out very clearly so that judges can score and vote as closely as possible", Associate Professor, PhD. Do Lenh Hung Tu - Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, Chairman of the VCA 2023 Preliminary Council said.  

Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairman of the VCA 2023 Finalist Council, shared that competitions and awards like VCA 2023 will help content creators pay more attention to the quality and value of their products, contributing to Vietnam's digital content production industry becoming a key industry, bringing many economic, cultural and educational values.
